The Jackson family patriarch, Joe Jackson, was released from the
hospital Saturday after being treated for bleeding ulcers. Joe,
along with wife Catherine, have supported their son through his
ongoing trial. Now, Access reveals some of our interview with Joe
Jackson that was conducted in June.
"I have to stay cool, stay focused and don't get nervous and have
high blood pressure and have strokes and things of that sort," said
Joe. In a wide-ranging interview with Access Hollywood's
international correspondent, Daphne Barak, the family patriarch made
it clear he stands firmly behind his embattled son.
"Michael is a superstar. He's a superstar that was raised right,"
said Joe.
In addition to believing his son's innocent of child molestation
charges, Jackson blames the media for presenting the public with a
warped perspective on the case.
"They never tell the truth about anything," said Joe. "I don't care
whether it's Michael or someone else. When they get to be that big
up in the entertainment field or whatever, they always try to tear
you down."
He also sees nothing strange about Michael's post-arraignment
behavior, including is dance atop an SUV.
"He loves his fans and his fans love him. I don't care how the media
try to twist it, but those are Michael's fans," maintains Joe.
When asked about the giant open house Michael threw at Neverland
Ranch, Joe told Access: "He wanted everybody to enjoy themselves and
that's what they did. They enjoyed themselves."
The elder Jackson also thought it was unfair for people to criticize
Michael's decision to allow the Nation of Islam to provide security.
"He was getting a lot of threats and stuff and it was bothering
him... He couldn't sleep at night and so what he did was he just got
some real good security," explained Jackson.
Despite trying to stay positive, Joe admits the ordeal has been
particularly difficult on his wife.
"[Catherine] don't sleep at night because she worries about how
things are being changed here and there," revealed Joe. "She knows
her son and she knows Michael's just as innocent as the day is
long."
And before daughter Janet's now infamous Super Bowl wardrobe
malfunction, Joe predicted she would become the subject of
controversy.
"I said, 'Janet's going to be next.' And sure enough it was that,"
said Joe. "She's a superstar too, and there's ways to get after
her."
Access' Daphne Barke also gave Joe an opportunity to address the
mother of Michael's accuser.
"If instead of me, the mother of the kid who started the child
molestation allegation against your son was sitting on this chair,
what would you tell her?" inquired Daphne.
"I would tell her, 'You know the truth. You know what you have done
before with other people and you're trying to do it with my son. Do
you think that's right? Do you think you should get away with
this?'" replied Joe.

Message from Michael ...
"My family and I have dedicated our lives to spreading unity and peace to the world through our music. The most recent unauthorized version of my life story, "Man in The Mirror," in no way shape or form represents who we are as a family. It is unfortunate that for years, we have been targets of completely inaccurate and false portrayals. We have watched, as we have been vilified and humiliated. I personally, have suffered through many hurtful lies and references to me as 'Wacko Jacko' as well as the latest untruth about me fathering quadruplets.
"This is intolerable and must stop. The public depiction of us is not who we are, or what we are: we are a loving family. My success on stage can be attributed to the love and support of my family off stage. My brothers and I are 'brothers' first, we started out together and will always be together. All I can hope for is that one day, my family will be shown the same kindness and respect that we have, throughout our lives, shown to others."

STATEMENT OF MICHAEL JACKSON, JUNE 17, 2004
“I respect the obligation of confidentiality imposed on all of the parties to the 1993 proceedings. Yet, someone has chosen to violate the confidentiality of those proceedings. Whoever is now leaking this material is showing as much disrespect for the Santa Maria Court’s ‘gag order’ as they are a determination to attack me.
“No action or investigation has been taken to determine who is leaking this information or why they are permitted to violate the law in such a manner. I respectfully request that people see these efforts for what they are.
“These kinds of attacks and leaks seek to try the case in the press, rather than to a jury who will hear all of the evidence that will show that I did not, and would not, ever, harm a child. I have always maintained my innocence and vehemently denied that these events ever took place. I reluctantly chose to settle the false claims only to end the terrible publicity and to continue with my life and career.
“I ask all of my neighbors in Santa Maria, the people to whom I give my loyal trust and admiration, to keep an open mind and give me a chance to show that I am completely innocent of these charges. I will not let you down.”

No Defense Necessary - Raymone Bain Cancels Fox Appearance
Source: Team MJJsource
Michael Jackson's spokesperson Raymone K. Bain, chose not to make a scheduled appearance in an interview with Fox News correspondent Geraldo Rivera. The interview was to take place on Saturday, April 3rd, 2004, on the FOX Newscast 'At Large with Geraldo Rivera.'
In response, Raymone Bain states, "I was led to believe that we would discuss Michael's trip, how he personally felt about it and a follow-up to the trip, what he has planned for the future. However, the format was changed and the format was no longer appropriate to discuss those issues that I had been led to believe that we would discuss." In addition Ms. Bain emphasizes, "Michael Jackson's lifetime of giving preempts anything that is going on right now."
As alluded to on the show by Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-TX), Mr. Jackson's track record of humanitarian efforts speak for themselves. Over the years, Mr. Jackson has led the way for celebrities to donate their time, efforts and resources to humanitarian causes and many support Michael Jackson and his continued efforts.

DMX vents on Michael Jackson, thinks of retiring
at 14:19 on March 28, 2004, EST.
TORONTO (CP) - Rapper DMX doesn't believe Michael Jackson is guilty.
"Michael Jackson will always be the King of Pop for me, always," he told a group of journalists in Los Angeles on the weekend where he was promoting his latest film, Never Die Alone.
"I personally don't think he really committed any crime. If it's been happening for awhile, why is it coming up now? I don't believe it."
DMX, real name Earl Simmons and the only artist in SoundScan history to have his first four albums debut at the top of the Billboard Charts, also confessed to having thoughts of quitting the music business.
"I refuse to give another dime to that record label, Def Jam," he said. "I made $144 million in one year for them. Guess how much they gave me? Nothing ... They loaned me $3 million towards my next album, so I owe them two more albums. They give you money, but then they take it back. It's robbery, man. I can't be part of it anymore."
Directed by Ernest Dickerson, Never Die Alone hits theatres Friday.

The Naked Truth
Janet Jackson is ready to get some things, ahem, off her chest. She's over the Super Bowl, at peace with life, in love with superproducer Jermaine Dupri and unashamed of liking it rough. Words by David Ritz
The winter sun is warm, the sky clear. In the distance, snow capped mountains crown the city. Ten days after the Super Bowl, Los Angeles--like the rest of the country--is still obsessed with what happened in Houston. Talk radio discusses nothing else.
Meanwhile, in a secluded corner of an aging recording studio on the west side of the city, Janet Jackson is layering background vocals. Her longtime producer, Jimmy Jam, is at the controls. Her harmonies are hypnotizing. The rapport between Janet and Jimmy is mellow. The tracks ooze with sweetness and sexuality, that wildly sensuous mix so seminal to Janet's sound. Peering into the darkened vocal booth lit with a string of faint red bulbs, I can only make out Janet's lips as she purrs, moans, whispers, and sighs. When she emerges into the light of the control room, she's smiling.
"Let's talk," she says.
I've arrived with apprehensions. Even though I've interviewed Janet many times since meeting her 15 years ago during the making of Rhythm Nation, I'm certain that this time will be different. She'll be different. All of the Super Bowl hype will have changed her, depressed her, confused or frightened her. I couldn’t be more wrong.
Janet is still Janet—unabashedly friendly, genuinely polite, ready to laugh. She’s at peace. Her focus is on Damita Jo, her new album. At 37, she appears to be in the full flush of her creative powers. "I’m loving it," she says. "Loving making musical sense out of feelings that don’t always make sense."
We retire to a cozy lounge where she settles into plush love seat. Looking trim in a plain black sweat suit and white baseball cap, her body language is relaxed. Her sinuous speaking voice, like her singing voice, is a quiet storm of seductive charm.
I mention the Super Bowl. "It’s behind me," is all she’ll say.
I mention the rumors that say her new record is her sexiest ever. Even scandalous.
David Ritz: Why are you laughing?
Janet: Because that’s probably true.
DR: What led you to such a sexy record?
J: Life.
DR: Please explain.
J: Well, the record is a journey of love on different fronts.
DR: Your journey? Your life?
J: In part, sure. But it’s important that listeners understand that the journey is a roller coaster. My life is an emotional roller coaster. Probably everyone’s is. We’re different people at different times. I’m different with my mother than I am with my brothers. Different with friends than I am with my business associates. Those differences fascinate me. I contain many characters. Those characters live inside me. When I put them in songs, I unleash tem. I free them. I free myself. And I wanted this record to be as free—and honest—as possible.
DR: You use your middle name—Damita Jo—as the title. Why?
J: It’s me.
DR: What’s the origin of the name?
J: My mother made up "Damita." I presumed "Jo" was for Joseph, my father, even though I later learned it wasn’t. Because he was emotionally withdrawn, I was never comfortable using it. For years I didn’t. Now I do. Now I love being called Jo.
DR: Why?
J: Acceptance. I’ve come to the point where I’m trying to accept—even embrace—everything that has happened to me. I believe that without acceptance there’s no serenity.
DR: Is Damita Jo serene?
J: Not entirely, but she’s working at it.
DR: Is she an alter ego to the Janet of the Janet. And Velvet Rope albums?
J: You might say that. She’s another way to express and expose a deeper part of me.
DR: A deeper sexuality?
J: Yes. Beginning with the earlier albums, exploring—and liberating—my sexuality has been an ongoing discovery and theme. With Damita Jo, I push the envelope further. As an artist, that’s not only my passion, it’s my obligation.
DR: I’m fascinated by a character that makes several dramatic appearances on Damita Jo. You call her Strawberry, and she’s sexually insatiable. Is Strawberry another alter ego?"
J: A songwriter is like a novelist. You invent characters. Because they’re born out of your brain, they reflect you. But good characters are independent of you and live lives of their own. I hope Strawberry is a good character. Sexually, she’s on fire. She doesn’t mince words. She has to have it and doesn’t care who knows it. "Ruff" is her song. "Ruff" is her style. As a writer, I created her. As a singer, I live through her. As an artist, I find her compelling. She might be crazy, she might even be twisted, but her sexual adventures are exciting. I want her music to reflect that excitement.
DR: So you’re saying that Strawberry lives inside you?
J: Absolutely.
DR: And it feels good to release her?
J: It feels wonderful.
DR: Are listeners to presume that, when it comes to sex, you, like Strawberry, like it rough?
J: It’s not an everyday indulgence. Not even every week. But every now and then like playing around in that mode. I don’t take it to an extreme. Nor do I do it dangerously. I call it role-playing with a twist.
DR: Is the song you call "Moist," I see a musical portrait of female orgasm. Am I misreading you?
J: No, you’re right. But in painting that portrait, I’m trying to infuse a spiritual quality to one of the most beautiful moments a woman can experience. In "Moist" the metaphor is falling rain. I’m equating the lyrical grace of gentle water with the phenomenal sensation of physical release. I want to praise that sensation, celebrate that feeling, and recreate the ecstasy that comes with a total mind-blowing, body-shaking orgasm.
DR: Then there’s the song you call "Sex-hibition."
J: Written with Dallas Austin. I wouldn’t dissect that one too deeply. It’s about wordplay. We were just tripping on the words. Trying to have fun by sexing up our vocabulary.
Beyond pure sex, the songs on Damita Jo also deal with serious romance. The singer sounds like she’s fallen in love.
DR: Have you (fallen in love)?
J: [She smiles. Laughs a little. Then sighs.] In talking about this record, my resolution was not to get personal.
DR: But isn’t that impossible?
J: I’m always getting shit for being the most outspoken member of my family. I’ve vowed to change, but I wind up running my mouth all the same. Yes, I’m I love. I tried to resist, tried to be cools, tried to stay aloof. Tried everything but cold showers. In the end, though, I fell. Hard.
DR: What’s the story of your new romance?
J: I wasn’t looking for romance. My last breakup was heart wrenching. The emotional repercussions were serious. The last thing I wanted was another serious relationship. My intention was simply to have fun with fun guys. And then I fell. Hard.
DR: Please talk about it.
J: I want to keep it personal. The love between me and Jermain [Dupri] is the deepest I’ve ever known. I want to honor our closeness by simply letting us be. I will say, thought, that he’s the only boyfriend I’ve every had whom my family adores.
DR: And that’s important to you?
J: It’s reassuring.
Different Day, Different Janet. It’s a formal affair at the Beverly Hills Hotel, where she’s being honored for her civic contributions by the wives of the NBA players during All-Star Weekend. Janet’s evening gown is stunning. A beaming Jermaine is by her side. The couple is openly affectionate with each other, obviously in love.
Janet and I find a quite spot in the back of an empty ballroom to continue our talk. I ask whether Jermaine, a celebrated songwriter/producer, has contributed to Damita Jo.
J: Not a note. He hasn’t even heard any of it.
DR: Why?
J: I’m determined to do it differently this time. In the past, I’ve confused church and state. Love and work. The bedroom and the boardroom. That blew up in my face. Now I’m keeping them separate. Besides, Jermaine has his own thriving career. His own musical identity. He doesn’t need e for that. What he needs me for—what I need him for—is love.
DR: So when Strawberry’s not around, you’re writing songs like "Spending Time with You" and "Could This Be Love" with Jermaine in mind?
J: Love is always an inspiration.
DR: What about some of the other songs—"Thinkin’ About My Ex," for instance. Are we to presume…
J: Wrong presumption. I should re-title it "Thinkin’ About My Ex (Except It’s Not Who You Think It Is)." Fact is, I didn’t write the lyrics—a woman named Freckles did. I loved the story just the way she wrote it. It’s a beautiful Babyface production. He, Dallas Austin and Jimmy Jam all contributed incredible productions to Damita Jo.
DR: What do you look for in producers?
J: Sensitive people who can technically express what I’m going through emotionally.
DR: You speak of sensitivity, Janet, but some will call Damita Jo just another expression of your sexual obsession. How would you respond?
J: I wouldn’t. If that’s someone’s reaction, fine. One of the joys of writing is to watch the reactions. And allow the reactions. People will say whatever they say. Everyone’s entitled to his or her own interpretation. I’m fascinated by those interpretations. That’s why I’m not big on analyzing my own lyrics. As far as calling Damita Jo a sexual obsession, though, I’m not sure. Obsession feels like a judgmental term to me, and when it comes to sex, I try to throw judgements out the window. If there’s any obsession at all, it’s this culture’s demand that we be categorized as either gay, straight or bi.
DR: You object to those categories?
J: I do. I think they oversimplify sexuality. If we accept those categories, we feel constrained to choose. But the categories are artificial and often arbitrary. We aren’t one thing but many things. We’re everything at once. At different times in our life—at different times in the course of a single day—we respond in different ways. The common denominator shouldn’t be sexual preference. It should be love. I like to think Damita Jo is all about love.
DR: After Damita Jo is released, will you tour?
J: Starting this summer.
DR: What about films?
J: I’m thrilled to be playing Lena Horne in a movie about her life. That should begin later this year.
DR: What is it about Lena?
J: Her courage, her inner beauty, her talent, her struggles, her survival through so many epochs of popular entertainment, her place in history of our race. I’m intrigued by her relationship to Hollywood, her connection to the world of Jazz, her friendships with geniuses like Billy Strayhorn and her political convictions. As a pioneer of black culture and a woman of tremendous elegance and dignity, Lena Horne encompasses so much. I’m honored and challenged to portray her.
DR: Other than your career, what are your goals?
J: To grow closer to God.
DR: How does one grow closer to God?
J: It starts with my feelings about God. As a child, my religious experiences weren’t great. I’m glad I had them as a base, but my concept of God wasn’t clear. If I saw God as someone judging me, who expected me to achieve in order to win His favor, I felt that I failed that God. I’ve always been hard on myself. I presumed God was hard on me. But I’ve always been hard on myself. I presumed God was hard on me. But I’ve come to believe that God is pure love. Nonjudgmental and unconditional love. Love that has no beginning and no end. Love lies in the preset moment. That’s the moment I’m embracing. God lives in that moment, and I want to live with God.
17th Feb - Preliminary Hearing Date Still Not Set
The idea of yesterday’s trial was to set a date for a future preliminary hearing, which would allow the Defence and Prosecution teams to display their evidence to Judge Rodney Melville, who would then decide whether or not there is in fact enough evidence to go to court.
However, (according to the Associated Press) this was not decided, and a date of April 2nd has been set to try once again to decide on a preliminary hearing date. The Judge expressed his desire to have this case on trial by the end of the year. All attorneys said they would be ready by December.
The reasons for the delay are believed to be that the attorneys are simply not ready. Santa Barbara District Attorney Tom Sneddon provided Mark Geragos with pages of evidence for review, and apparently is only halfway though turning over the material. Geragos said he would need time to review it all.
All messeges for katherine jackson have been put up in the special pages section! Please go there to read all of them, and remember its not too late to keep sending in more messages!!

New York Post: Case Against Jackson is 'Flimsy' The following comes from New York Post columnist Cindy Adams, printed on the 9th of January.
LOS ANGELES legal types are saying Michael Jackson cannot be found guilty. That two lawyers earlier refused this case believing it "not strong enough." That it was shopped around for three months. That some in the Santa Barbara police community believed there wasn't sufficient evidence to go on. That even attorneys who had opposed Michael in the first case determined they didn't want in on this one. That forces behind the plaintiff were not motivated by familial or legal issues. That this indictment "could fall apart unless additional evidence is found." Legal brains closer at hand are calling this "flimsy," saying "they have nothing that's triable."
